Description
This is a request for information / sources sought announcement to identify potential sources and gather information on current capabilities within the market. The Air Force Metrology Calibration Detachment is considering a purchase of a Geometry Measuring Machine which will have the capability to measure out of roundness, concentricity, circular runout, circular flatness, and perpendicularity. The system accuracy requirements: Radial Bearing Accuracy will not exceed 5 microinches. Axial Bearing Accuracy will not exceed 5 microinches. Coning Error will not exceed 15 microinches per 24 inches. A precision master ball mounted on a base will be provided with each system. The master ball will have an approximate diameter of 0.5 inches. The out of roundness of the master ball will not exceed 5 microinches. The gage head and amplifiers will be calibrated using gage blocks. The various ranges for each amplifier will be correlated. The system will be software driven. The software will be user friendly. The PC Operating System will be Windows based. The system shall have a 15 inch flat screen LCD monitor. The computer system will have the abilty to save measurement results and recall measurement results. Tilt and centering functions for part alignment will be computer guided using bar graphs and instructions. The system will have the ability to determine and provide calculated measurement results via computer. It shall have the ability to change the reference circle, range, probe direction, etc and recalculate data. The system will have the ability to view circular charts and measurement data via a flat screen LCD monitor. The system will have the abilty to print all circular charts and measurement data. The rotary table will have a minimum diameter of 6 inches and will be driven using pneumatics. The rotary table will have a weight capacity of at least 50 pounds. The rotary table will have precision fine adjustments for tilt and centering. The system will include two lever type gage heads and will have the ability to measure using two gage heads. The columns which support the gage heads will be a minimum of 24 inches in length. The sytem shall have various measuring ranges which include but are not limited to +/- 0.005 inch to +/- 0.0001 inch. The resolution of the shorter range shall be approximately 0.000005 inch. The system shall have various filtering capabilities to reduce and/or eliminate effects of surface finish. The system will have the ability to change the reference circle to LSC, MRS, MZC, MIC, MCC.
