- This announcement will serve as notice that U.S. Department of Education, Federal Student Aid (FSA), intends to issue a full and open solicitation to provide a Virtual Data Center to host FSA's student financial aid delivery systems. FSA intends to award a performance-based contract that offers new and innovative ways to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. The solicitation will not be available before July 11, 2005. Official notice of the solicitation and other appropriate notices will be posted on FedBizOpps. The Government anticipates using a combination of techniques (such as releasing a draft solicitation, and holding one-on-one sessions with companies) to receive comments from the marketplace. Because of the interest anticipated in this acquisition, telephone inquiries will not be entertained.
