Questions and answers from site visit 1) Is there going to be place to store the excess furniture on base until asbestos abatement, wall painting, drop ceiling and lighting installation and carpet replacement is complete? a. We are attempting to secure room A-205 and will have room B-108 for storage. If approved, this should be more than enough to temporarily store items in. If not, there may not be anywhere else on base where the furniture can be stored. 2) Will there be government-supplied forklifts available if needed? a. Yes the government will have a forklift and driver available if needed, but everything should fit in the two rooms tentatively provided to store the furniture until completion of the rest of the work. 3) Can we use mobile storage? a. If needed you may use mobile storage and park the storage in the large parking lot next to this building. Advance notice will be required in order to obtain approval from the building owner to utilize the parking lot for this purpose. 4) Will we have to remove and box up personal items? a. No, personal items will be removed before this process is started; this request includes any non-personal items as well as anything that will need to be disassembled. 5) How long will the items be in storage before the items can be returned to where they were removed? a. 4 to 5 weeks 6) When will you need us to start on this? a. We are hoping to get started by April 25, 2005 7) Is there an elevator in the building? a. No, but everything should fit in the tentative storage provided on the floor in which is currently located 8) Will the two cabinets in room 114 need to be removed also? a. Yes and since they will not fit through the door they will have to be disassembled? Change that were made during the Site visit 1) Everything will be tentatively stored on base in the same building on the same floor. 2) Two large cabinets will require complete disassembly because the will not fit through the door.
