Description
The U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Command proposes to acquire up to 800 UH/MH-60 helicopters over five fiscal years. Both Army UH-60 and Navy MH-60 aircraft will be procured under this contract to support continued UH/MH-60 production from FY07 th rough FY11. Provisions will be included in the contract to allow for the procurement of UH-60L aircraft if the appropriate approvals to procure UH-60M aircraft have not been received. This acquisition will either be awarded as a five-year multiyear contr act or as a single year contract with options for the remaining four fiscal years. Estimated base quantity for the Army is 351 aircraft and for the Navy is 110 aircraft. Options for an additional 339 aircraft will also be included in this acquisition res ulting in a total quantity of up to 800 aircraft. These additional options will be available to support other Department of Defense requirements, other Government agency requirements, and Foreign Military Sales. Additionally, the Army intends to procure two types of spares: (1) the UH-60 replenishment spares up to a value of $1,475,000,000, and (2) up to 351 of each of the initial spares unique to the UH-60M configuration. The replenishment spares have undergone screening and will be procured from Sikors ky Aircraft Corporation on a sole source basis. Initial spares will be procured from Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation on a sole source basis for two years after contract award or until such time as full screening has been determined. Spares requirements wil l be procured under an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity arrangement or as options. This acquisition will also include the procurement of associated mission flexibility kits, related support, services, systems/project management, training, publicati ons, and technical data.
