- Description
- The United States Merchant Marine Academy is seeking proposals to support its technology needs for delivering distance learning education for its Master of Marine Engineering program. The distance learning program will use a combination of asynchronous and synchronous delivery. The asynchronous part of the course will be composed of two one-hour prerecorded sessions available for downloading by the students. The synchronous part will be a two-hour discussion session held at a scheduled time, Mondays to Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, EST. At any given time, no more then three discussion sessions will be scheduled with anticipated maximum of 12 sessions per week. It is anticipated that the maximum student enrollment will be 25 students per class. The provider must host the software, enable and monitor the synchronous sessions, provide help desk support, and provide training for faculty and students. Additionally, the provider may provide consulting services for production of the prerecorded sessions. The projected release date for this solicitation is 15 April 2005.
