Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement; a market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS SYNOPSIS. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential construction contractors who are interested in bidding the Cape Yakataga, South Channel Bridge Replacement project, which is located in a very remote area of Alaska. The Government is seeking qualified, experienced sources capable of removing the existing bridge and replacing with a steel segmental bridge that can be erected in pre-assembled sections. See attached documents for details. The price range of the project work is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. The Government is requesting that concerns interested as prime contractors furnish the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, and e-mail address. (2) A list of no more than 5 projects, which your firm has constructed in a remote location. Please include project name, size, and logistical challenges due to the remote location. Contracts must be for highway/bridge work. (3) Your firm?s single and aggregate bonding capacity. E-mail responses to this request for information are preferred, and should be sent to: eplans@fhwa.dot.gov. All questions must be submitted via e-mail or fax. Mailed responses should be submitted to the attention Contracts, Western Federal Lands Highway Division, 610 East Fifth Street, Vancouver WA 98661. Faxed responses should be sent to 360-619-7932. The due date and time for responses to this synopsis is 4:00 pm Pacific Daylight Time on April 22, 2005.

Address: The proposed project is located approximately 100 air miles west-northwest of Yakutat and 110 air miles east-southeast of Cordova, Alaska on the northern shore of the Gulf of Alaska.
