Description
The Library of Congress, National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS/BPH) has a requirement for systems analysis and programming support to continue, modify and extend the operation of its NLS Integrated Operations Support System (NIOSS). NOISS operates in both a clientserver and a webenabled environment at NLS on a local server with local clients. NIOSS is a combination of client/server and webapplication systems. Both the client/server and web applications are hosted on Library of Congress infrastructure using IBM SP servers running AIX and Oracle database and web technologies. For the client applications the database connectivity between the client and server is through ODBC. The client applications are developed using PowerBuilder, while the web applications are primarily written using Oracle?s Web Toolkit and Oracle iAS. The Crystal Reports Enterprise is the primary reporting tool. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the efficient and effective operational status and the development and maintenance of NIOSS. The contractor is required to notify NLS/BPH of all problems and issues arising in the NIOSS operational environment and to identify options for the solutions to the problems in enough detail for NLS/BPH to choose from among the options without further investigation. The solicitation will be posted within the next 24 to 48 hours at this location. Questions may be addressed to the Contracting Officer via email. No phone calls please.
