- The purpose of this Amendment is to provide answers to technical questions that were submitted. The closing date for proposals remains unchanged and is 31 March 2005, Noon Mountain Standard Time. The deadline for technical questions has expired. Ques tion: Is there more detailed drawing for this project? Type of material, thickness etc. Files on project dont seam to be complete. Answer: The only drawing available for this solicitation is located at our web site http://www.yuma.army.mil/contracting/ index.html. Type of material is steel. The thickness is indicated on the drawings. Question: Would it be acceptable to use a single piece of plate to cover the bottom? The plate could be plug welded flush with the bottom and welded to the flanges. Ans wer: Yes. One piece would be alright. Question: Are there two ballast hold down pipes per tub and are they the full length of the tub? Answer: Yes, there are two ballast hold down pipes and they are the full length of the tub. Question: Do the hold do wn strips on the side have the holes in them or are they of the configuration of the plain strips shown in the first and second section? Answer: The hold down strips do have the holes in them. Question: Is the tub symmetrical about the centerline? Answ er: Yes. Question: Is the solicitation for just the 8 foot steel platform or for all of the pieces associated with the platform? There are multiple pieces associated with this item. Answer: The only other pieces we need with the tub are the metal tube s that slide into the tub which hold the 700 lb weights. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (28-MAR-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
