- Description
- The United States Merchant Marine Academy intends to negotiate a contract for in-patient hospital care services and on-site health services for Midshipmen who attend the Academy. The hospital must be a full service medical facility, licensed by the State of New York, which offers the following: Medical and surgical care and treatment requiring hospitalization or outpatient consultations and associated care; consultations in clinics, emergency rooms; or in-patient care encompassing all medical and surgical specialties, including but not limited to: Allergy and Immunology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Hematology, Nephrology, Infectious Diseases, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Physical Medicine, Plastic Surgery, Pulmonary Disease, Proctology, Radiology, Rheumatology and Ambulatory Surgery. Also included shall be all drugs, medications, supplies, equipment, tests for diagnosis and treatment in clinics, emergency rooms or in-patient care that is routinely provided by the hospital to its patients. The hospital shall be no more than 30 minutes driving time from the Academy. On-site services shall include those of one Physician (full-time), three Physician’s Assistants (one full-time, two part-time), two Registered Nurses (full-time), one Medical Office Assistant (full-time), one Medical Services Coordinator (full-time), one Worker’s Compensation Technician (full-time), one Pharmacist (part-time), one Psychiatrist (part-time), one Director/Clinical Psychologist (full-time) and one Dental Hygienist (part-time). The period of performance for the contract will be from October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005, with the possibility of four option years. The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
