- The US Department of the Interior, Minerals Management Service, intends to award a sole source contract for the following tasks: -Working independently and jointly with MMS staff, help MMS in finalizing the currently established framework for gas hydrate assessment. -Provide professional guidance to MMS staff with the development and application of the gas hydrate assessment methodology and model. -Interact with other non-MMS experts involved in the gas hydrates assessment project during the model development phase and during the application of the model in developing quantitative estimates of in-place and technically recoverable gas hydrate resources. -Select a suitable GIS package and provide training and guidance to MMS assessors in conducting assessment of gas hydrates. The training will include geological, geophysical and probabilistic statistical analysis. This award will be for one base and two (2) option years. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The intent of this Special Notice is for informational purposes only. However, all information received within 15 working days after the date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
