Description

The National Park Service, St. Croix National Scenic Riverway contemplates issuing a sole source purchase order for the purchase of one non-chemical freeze-based means, book dryer/insect exterminator to treat newly acquired archival and manuscript collections for insect and mold infestations. The equipment must have approximately 40 cubic feet of working space; the capacity to reach -40F with the ability to cycle through temperatures that kill insect pests in all stages of development and that destroys at least 90% of living fungi per cycle. It must also have the capacity, controls and settings necessary for book or manuscript drying by sublimation. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested firms or persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotation. All quotations received within 10 days after date of publication of this annoucement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Governement. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
