Item 0001 NSN 2840-01-187-8260JF P/N: L4100265-011, The engine panel is constructed of composite titanium honeycomb and a titanium sheet brazed together, approximately 42? long by 30? radius, and comprises one/third of a circle for 120 degrees. The panel acts as a heat shield between the hot aft engine section and the aircraft and prevents damage to exposed augmentor hardware and fuel lines. F101GE engine, B1B acft. Destination: Tinker Air Force Base Ok 73145-3032. Delivery: starting Oct 2005 at approximately 10 ea monthly. Anticipated quantity ranges of 20 ea to 37 ea and 38 ea to 50 ea will be solicited. The actual quantity will be determined at the time of award at this time the Government?s BEQ is 38 ea. First Article Government testing will be required for sources not producing the item within the last 36 months. The qualification requirements for this item were established prior to 19 Oct 1984 and the requirements of FAR 9.202(A) do not apply. The approximate issue date will be 22 Mar 05. The approximate response date will be 25 Apr 05. The anticipate award date is 19 Jul 05. Written procedure will be used for this solicitation. Sources: BOEING North American Inc., Long Beach CA. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which if timely shall be considered. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
