- Synopsis for FA8104-05-R-0305 This synopsis is for the J69-T-25A: two items: Inner Shell and Outer Shell. Inner Shell, NSN: 2840-01-230-5120NI; P/N 723706-102 J69/T-25A Engine. Inner Shell Dimensions are approximately, 7.08 inches and 8.5 inches wide. Material consists of AMS 5532 and 5510 steels. Outer Shell, NSN: 2840-01-448-5790NI; P/N 723688-103. Outer Shell is an aerospace quality fabrication used as part of the J69 hot section. Dimensions are approximately 16.8 inches diameter times 8.3 inches deep. Material consists of mainly AMS 5599 steel. A three-year requirements type contract with possible option years, with quantity ranges is contemplated with certified cost and pricing. Approximate BEQ for Inner Shell 42ea and for Outer Shell 81ea. Initial Delivery for Inner Shell on/or about Jun 2005. Initial Delivery for Outer Shell is on/or about Jun 2005. Solicitation of these items will be released on/or about 7 Apr 05. These items are critical to performance and safe engine operation. This requirement is sole source under 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2). Only qualified sources may apply. The following source has been approved for this acquisition: Teledyne Industries Inc. Toledo Ohio: Cage Code 03104. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available form only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one, or a limited number of responsible source(s) under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submits proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty five-days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after the Government will consider date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement made contact with the firm(s) listed. NOTE: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposed development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
