Description
This announcement is a follow-up to the announcement for Solicitation Number USASNOTE040930001 entitled  Request for Information for the Infrastructure Modernization (IMOD) Acquisition posted on 16 March 2005. As stated in the 16 March 2005 announc ement, the PM Defense Communications and Army Switched Systems (PM DCASS) intends to begin the acquisition process supporting the competition and award of multiple follow-on contracts to the Digital Switched Systems Modernization Program (DSSMP) contracts. The replacement to the DSSMP acquisition will be entitled the Infrastructure Modernization (IMOD) acquisition and shall include a scope that is capable of seamlessly integrating voice, data, inside/outside cable plant and/or transmission products and ser vices into a single integrated communications system. Site preparation and initial logistics support, to include training, spares and various warranties will also be included in the scope. The Government has released the Infrastructure Modernization (IMOD) Advisory Multi-Step Request for Qualification Package along with a Draft IMOD Statement of Work (SOW) inclusive of Attachments A and B on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Acquisitio n Business Web Site - https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi. Interested Contractors can access these documents by going to https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi then under ASFI Business Opportunities clicking on Contracting Opportunities Search, then typing in US ASNOTE04093 under the Solicitation Number block then scroll down and click on continue. Under Solicitation - Amendment Number, click on USASNOTE040930002 and then scroll down and click on Attachments. It is hereby requested that Interested Contractors ac cess this website, review all documents and submit their qualification packages electronically by no later than 1400 (2:00 p.m.) EST on 4 April 2005 to Ethan Mueller, ITEC4 via e-mail at ethan.mueller@itec4.army.mil. Please thoroughly review all documents and follow all of the instructions contained in them before e-mailing your packages. The current tentative schedule for the IMOD acquisition is as follows: Release of Advisory Multi-Step Announcement  21 March 2005, Industry Capability Statements Due  4 April 2005, Government Responses to Industry  10 May 2005, Release of Draft RFP  11 May 2005, Draft RFP Industry Comments Received  25 May 2005, Formal RFP Issued  30 June 2005, Receipt of Proposals  29 July 2005, Contract Award  15 December 2005. Note that this schedule may be subject to change. The Government will continue to notify Industry of all announcements and postings related to the IMOD acquisition via the FedBizopps.
