- This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notice is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for all service, labor, parts, material, equipment, and supervision to perform inspections, maintenance, calibration and all necessary repairs of nine (9) chillers of various size and manufacturers located in Buildings 24 and 31 at Goddard Space Flight Center. A. Inspection Services ? The contractor shall provide inspection services on all chillers (2) two times yearly consisting of (1) one operational/maintenance inspection before the cooling season starts and (1) one off line inspection, this is to be done in accordance with the manufacture minimum requirements. B. All chiller operational/maintenance inspections shall be scheduled so that each chiller is inspected during the cooling season (April thru September) and the off line inspection shall be during the non-cooling season, (October thru March) as directed by the Technical Representative. C. The Government shall require a written report after each inspection. Any necessary repairs must be approved by the Technical Representative prior to the start of said repair. D. An Eddy-Current Tube Analysis shall be performed once every 5 years. E. The contractor will provide an emergency 24 hour phone number and a minimum of a 4 hour response time. F. The contractor will provide a maximum of 5000 lbs of R-22 refrigerant as needed. The Government reserves the right to increase of decrease the number of inspections throughout the life of the purchase order. If it becomes necessary to perform more or less inspections, prior approval must be obtained from the Technical Representative.
