Description
This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice that the TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 which includes 46 Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebra ska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming are initiating a standardization review for the product line of ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANTS for use with Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty and Total Hip Arthroplasty with instrumentation th at can go from primary procedure to revision procedure if necessary. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Additional TRICARE Regions may elect to join after the award. Clinical Product Teams (CPT) will evaluate this product line for TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8. TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 deems the CPT members to be medical experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which p roducts are acceptable. CPTs may be composed of Physicians, Nurses, Medical Technicians, Infection Control Officers, and other clinicians who have expertise and knowledge of the products. They will review based on literature and pricing only. This may res ult in a multiple award. Presentations or demonstrations are NOT required for this evaluation. Companies interested in having their products included in the standardization process should carefully review the stated requirements below. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for this product line include but are not limited to the following: (1) Can your company serve all MTFs in the regions identified above with clinical support, educational programs and utilization reports? (2) Can your company provide competitive pricing and committed volume discounts? (3) Can your company provide and support a return goods policy? (4) Can your company provide a conversion chart to show competitors like items? (5) Can your company assist in a plan of implementation? (6) Can your company provide literature on the clinical efficacy of your products? (7) Can your company produce quarterly utilization data reports to support the Tri-Service Regional Business Office (TRBO)? (8) Does your company currently have an Existi ng Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contract for each product and/or an ECAT contract or Decentralized Blanket Purchase Agreement (DBPA)? If your company currently holds an FSS, and/or ECAT contract or DBPA for the Medical-Surgical product line for ORTHOPEDIC IMPLANTS, your company is eligible to participate in this standardization action. After you have notified the POC of your intent to pa rticipate, the POC will advise you about forwarding your product literature on all items available from your company that meet the product descriptions above. However, suppliers may be required to provide clinical samples at no cost to the government. Please respond to Mr. Kevin Hill no later than April 8, 2005 if interested in participating in this standardization effort. Those companies that do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration. The TRBO may request sales data to facilitate a conversion plan. This information will be treated as proprietary and not releasable. Companies must also provide their FSS contract and/or ECAT contract or DBPA number for their product(s).
