Description
South End Road Reconstruction, Heppner and North Fork John Day Ranger Districts of the Umatilla National Forest. Work consists of brushing, filling ditch, crushing aggregate at two different pit locations, preparing roadbed for placement of crushed aggregate, placing and compacting crushed aggregate, the removal and disposal of culverts, constructing rolling dips, cleaning cattleguards, removal and disposal of old cattle guard, and the furnishing and installation of a new cattle guard. Project work involves parts of roads 1007, 2039, and 3980. Contract time is 92 calendar days with an estimated start work date of June 1, 2005. The estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. For work on the North Fork John Day Ranger District begin at the junction of state highway 395 and Forest Road 55 near Dale, Oregon, travel east on Forest Road 55 for 0.69 miles to the junction of Forest Road 10. Travel 7.40 miles southeast on Forest Road 10 to the junction of Forest Road 1007. This junction is marks the beginning of the project work for the 1007 road. Travel south 2.90 miles on Forest Road 1007 to the junction of Forest Road 3980. This intersection marks the end of the project work for the 1007 road and the beginning of the project work for the 3980 road. Travel west 1.57 miles on Forest Road 3980 to the junction of the 3980160 road. Rock Pit 1 is located at milepost 1.2 on road 3980160 at T8S, R32E, SEC 16. Continue traveling east on Forest Road 3980 an additional 8.00 miles to the Forest Boundary/County Road 21 which marks the end of project work on the 3980 road. For work on the Heppner Ranger District, travel south 37.13 miles on State Highway 207 to the junction of State Highway 207 and Forest Road 2000350. Travel east 0.30 miles on Forest Road 2000350 to Rock Pit 2 at T7S, R25E, SEC 10 for the Heppner project work. From the junction of State Highway 207 and Forest Road 2000350, travel 1.71 miles south on State Highway 207 to the junction of Forest Road 2039. Travel northeast 2.80 miles on Forest Road 2039 to the junction Forest Road 2039360. This junction marks the beginning of the Heppner project work for the 2039 road. Travel 2.32 miles northeast on Forest Road 2039 to the Wilson Creek Bridge. This bridge marks the end of all project work. The solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps on March 30, 2005 and offers are due April 28, 2005.
