Medical Supplies - Potential Sources Sought Military Hospitals - (Army, Navy, Air Force) TRICARE Europe Region and Southwest Region Gloves, Surgical - Standardization Points of Contact: Cindy Ingrao, Clinical Consultant, Tri-Service Regional Business Office, Southwest Region, San Diego, CA. Potential sources sought to participate in the regional standardization of Surgical Gloves. TRICARE Europe Region and Southwest Region, a military integrated delivery network (IDN), comprised of Army, Navy and Air Force medical treatment centers in Iceland, Great Britain, Spain, Germany, Italy, Turkey, and in California are in the process of standardizing Surgical Gloves. If your company currently holds, or is in the process of obtaining a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center-Philadelphia (DSCP) for Surgical Gloves, your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. Please respond by Email to: Cingrao@nmcsd.med.navy.mil, and provide your company name, address, point of contact, telephone, fax and E-mail address and answers to the below listed questions no later than April 1, 2005. For questions, please call (619) 532-8517. 1.Does your company manufacture or distribute sterile surgical gloves? 2.Are your products available through the Prime Vendor, Owens & Minor? 3.Can your company ship product directly to European Medical Treatment Facilities if the Prime Vendor is unable to meet the requirement? If so, what is the ship time from placement of order to delivery at the facility 4.What is your DAPA number? 5.Under what brand(s) does your company manufacture or distribute your product? 6.Under what standards is your product manufactured? 7.Does your product meet ASTM standards? If so, which ones? 8.Is there available research on your brand?s failure rate, especially for non-latex varieties? If yes, please provide that as an attachment. 9.What materials (latex-free, vinyl, nitrile, etc) do your surgical gloves come in? 10.Are your gloves compatible with all skin types? 11.Do your gloves have any additives to prevent skin irritation? If yes, what are these additives? 12.Do your gloves come with and without powder? 13.Do your gloves come in standard and orthopedic? 14.What is the shelf life of your gloves? 15.Are you gloves made to allow scrub personnel to easily don gloves by both the open and closed gloving technique? 16.Are your gloves made to hold wet or dry objects without slipping? 17.What is the barrier protection for each of the types of gloves your company offers? 18.What is the cuff length of your gloves? Is it sufficient to fully cover the cuff of a surgical gown? 19.Does your company recommend double gloving for procedures? If not, why? 20.Do your gloves come in levels of tactile sensitivity? If yes, what are the levels? 21.Do your gloves have an indicator that alerts the wearer should the protective capability of the glove be compromised? 22.Can tape and/or labels be easily removed from your gloves? 23.Do your products come in different sizes? If so, what sizes? Are these sizes color-coded? 24.Are gloves packaged in pairs with a specific Left and Right glove? 25.Does your company provide in-service training for your product(s)? If so, is this training provided by your company at no charge? 26.Does your company provide customer service 24/7? 27.Is there any history of backorders and/or recalls for this product group?
