Description
The National Park Service, National Capital Region, is soliciting for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Firm-Fixed Price service contract with a firm qualified to provide archeological services which will cover thirty-four units of the NPS totaling over 88,500 acres in portions of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. These units are located in one geographic area - the Potomac River Basin. The Northern most unit is Catoctin Mountain Park, Maryland, the easternmost unit is the Baltimore Washington Parkway, Maryland, the southernmost unit is Prince William Forest Park, Virginia, and the westernmost unit is the terminus of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historic Park at Cumberland Maryland. This archeological service provides for the survey, inventory, identification, evaluation, study, protection, preservation, conservation, and interpretation of the region's prehistoric and historic archeological resources. These services shall be done in accordance with "The Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation," National Park Service Cultural Resource Management Guidelines (NPS-28), and, as appropriate to the location of the particular NPS Park unit, "Standards and Guidelines for Archeological Investigations in Maryland" 1994, "Guidelines for Archeological Investigations in Virginia" 1996, and "Guidelines for Archeological Investigations in the District of Columbia" 1998. More than one contract may be awarded from this solicitation. These contracts will be negotiated for one year with price options for four additional one year periods. Task orders will be issued during each 12 month period. The estimated magnitude for each performance period for each contract is $10,000.00 to $700,000.00. The solicitation will be released on or before March 16, 2005. NO PAPER COPIES WILL BE ISSUED.
