- Questions: Rosetta Brightwell, 912-652-5903 NOTE: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking American made Ceiling Fans with the following specifications: Ceiling fans shall be equipped with five blades and shall have a blade span within 42 and 44 inches and a blade pitch within 14 and 16 degrees. H ardwood blades shall be precisely matched, weighed and balanced to within 1 gram and shall be sealed to resist moisture. The housing shall be made of cast iron or injection molded ABS resin components with heavy cast blade holders. The fan shall be equip ped with a vibration absorbing flexible flywheel. The maintenance-free motor shall be an 18-pole, permanent split capacitor, direct drive induction motor with sealed heavy-duty precision ball bearings. The fan operation shall be smooth and quiet at all s peeds. Fan blades shall be 12 inches below the ceiling. The motor, blades and visible hardware shall be white. Motor parts shall be covered by a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.
