- DLA is developing a partnership between DLA and General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) to support the F404 Engine. In an effort to ensure that our Small Business community understands the goals of this initiative and has an appreciation for the role the small business community will continue to play in support of the F404 Engine, DLA has scheduled a Small Business Industry Day. This Industry Day will be held at 9:00 AM Eastern Time on March 23, 2005 at the Springfield Hilton (www.hilton.com) in Springfield, Virginia. The Industry Day will address the overall Synchronized Supply Chain (S2C) concept with GEAE and how small businesses can become a qualified GEAE source. Under this partnership, the government will continue to provide some limited parts support as well as material management, warehousing, and transportation. GEAE is to provide technical, engineering, and logistical services, using integrated supply chain management practices and interactive technology, and the majority of the spare parts support.
