- Description
- The Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) intends to procure commercial U.S.-flag breakbulk and containerized ocean and intermodal services for the carriage of Department of Defense (DoD) cargo in support of DoD contingency acti ons. Offers are solicited from owners/operators of commercial U.S.-flag vessels who have been approved by the Department of Transportation's (DoT) Maritime Administration (MARAD) as a participant in the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA) Progra m. VISA is a DoD approved sealift readiness program jointly sponsored with DoT. The RFP will be released electronically on or about 15 March 2005. Hard copies will not be available. Request for this solicitation should be made by e-mail to goldenc@sddc .army.mil. Entities that are not currently enrolled in the VISA program are not eligible to offer.
