- This is a synopsis for a commercial acquisition under FAR Part 12 and 13 to modify and upgrade 36 each SF6 tracer gas analyzers. The 45th Contracting Squadron intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Tracer ES&T Inc., San Marcos, CA for services to modify and upgrade 36 each SF6 gas analyzers, Tracer ES&T model number 2600 TGA. Services are primarily concerned with the integration of hardware and software modifications and improvements. This acquisition is justified under FAR 13.103-1(b)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Evaluation of the work to be performed indicates that only the manufacturer of the equipment has the capability to perform the specialized services required. Solicitation No. F08650-05-R-8001 will be issued as a Request for Quotation. This proposed procurement is 100% small business set-a-side. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334519 and Small Business size standard of 500 employees. No solicitation document exists at this time. The 45th Contracting Squadron determined that Tracer ES&T Inc is the only source capable of providing the necessary services.
