Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract to repair the Mouth of the Columbia River North and South Jetties. Work involves placement of approximately (1) 56,000 tons of stone having a size range of 7 to 15 tons; ( 2) 51,000 tons of stone having a size range of 10 to 20 tons; and (3) 50,000 tons of stone having a size range of 15 to 30 tons on the existing damaged jetties. The solicitation and resulting contract will contain a base and optional work items. In general , the base bid item will cover the repair of the North Jetty with stone having a size range of 7 to 15 tons in the first year construction period. Optional work on the South Jetty may be initiated in the first year construction period contingent upon the a vailability of funding. All work in the second year construction period would involve repair of the south jetty and is optional contingent upon the availability of funding. It is anticipated that the construction period will extend from March 1, 2005 to No vember 1, 2006. Estimated cost range of the work is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. Invitation for Bid will be available on or about December 17, 2004. Tentative bid opening is on or about January 18, 2005 or 30 days after issue. . This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns.
