Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ADVERTISEMENT. PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. OFFICIAL ADVERTISEMENT IS PLANNED FOR MAY 2005 WITH AN APPROXIMATE. AWARD SCHEDULE OF AUGUST 2005. A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are adequate HUBZone; 8(a) or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOSB)qualified to perform the proposed contract. The proposed action will be for the addition to and the renovation of a 31,500 SF Army Reserve Center Training Building and a 8,500 SF maintenance facility in Springfield, MA. The project also includes the new construction of a 8,500 SF maintenance facility in Springfield, MA. The project also includes the new construction of a pre-engineered storage building, addition of a hi gh-bay maintenance bay in the maintenance shop, extension of heavy equipment parking area and a vehicle wash rack. Repairs will include replacing floors, ceilings, doors, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, telecommunications and security systems. All supp orting utilities, landscaping and pavement will be included. The contract duration is estimated at 525 days. NAICS code is 236220. The estimated cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. All interested small business-types must respond to this notifiction in writing (by mail or fax) no later than 4:30 p.m. on 02 April 2005. Responses should include: 1) identification and verification of company's small business status (HUBZone, 8(a) or SDVOSB); 2) past experience describing completed projects t hat are similar in size, scope, complexity and dollar range to this project, the percentage and type(s) of work that was self-performed and how that work was accomplished; 3) capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for a project within the co st range of this project ($5 million to $10 million); and 4) a statement verifying the contractor's intention to perform at least 15% of the work and how it will be accomplished. This percentage is in accordance with FAR 52.219-14(b)(3) Limitations on Sub contracting; general construction. Note: If a sufficient number of qualified HUBZone, 8(a) and/or SDVOSB firms do not respond by the date and time indicated above, the planned contract action will be converted to full and open competition and advertised as such.
