- Description
- The Social Security Administration(SSA) requires the contract services of a BC/BE Internist, Family Practitioner or Generalist in Internal Medicine to serve as a Regional Medical Advisor to provide leadership and expertise in the review of medical claims under the Disability Program of TItles II and XVI of the Social Security Act. The services will be performed in Government space located at 99 High Street, Boston, MA. This acquisition will be for commercial services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. These services will involve the review of medical evidence in disability claims. No patient contact will be involved. The contractor must have necessary computer skills to view and input electronic case information. Some travel may be required. The RMA provides leadership, technical direction and guidance to the State Disability Determination Services and Federal Medical consultant staff who work as case reviewers at the Disability Quality Branch of SSA,in addition to case development, review psychiatric and medical policy and trends and in training disability personnel at both the Federal and State level. Competitive pricing will be solicited and accepted. Contractor will be required to pass a security background check before beginning performance under the contract. Contractor shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database prior to award of a contract. Offerors must have: (1) a valid license to practice medicine in the United States; and (2) be available for onsite services 24 hours per week within the hours of 6:00 a.m and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The period of performance will be April 1, 2005 or date of award, whichever is later, through March 31, 2006 with provisions for four one-year options. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about February 22, 2005. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) code is 621111 and the size standard is $8.5M. Offers received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration.
