- The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Benthos, Inc., North Falmouth, MA. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 only one responsible source will satisfy agency requirements. Procedures of FAR 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, will be utilized. The requirement is FSC 2050, for 17? glass spheres and battery packs for the Benthos 865A acoustic release. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive offers. Any inquiries concerning this requirement are to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Numbered Note 22.
