Description

By way of this notice, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Chicago District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces its intention to award a sole source contract to Indiana Geological Survey of the University of Indiana (IGS) for Conversion of Hi storical Data to GIS Format for Grand Calumet Feasibility Study. The work consists of the conversion of existing historical data into geospatial data, including georectifying and the development of metadata. The contractor will convert an existing 4 volume historical land use report. The data to be converted is for No rthwest Indiana. The contractor will provide the converted data in ArcGIS compatible format, in electronic form (on CD-ROM). The owner of the data, Indiana Department of Environmental Management, has had IGS perform digital conversion and spatial data development work in the past and is confindent in the quality of IGS's work product. In addition, the historical documents that are to be converted are very delicate and rare, and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management is only willing to provide these documents to a company with which it has worked before to ensure that the documents are not damaged. Therefore, we consider this acquisition to be available from one source, Indiana Geological Survey of the University of Indiana (IGS). The contract performance period is for approximately 215 calendar days. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will be a firm-fixed priced Purchase Order. This notice is NOT a Request for Quotations, therefore, NO solicitation documents will be iss ued. Award is anticipated on or about 28 February 05.
