Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas, intends to issue solicitation RFQ 50020-0001-5 for the provision of Sentence Computation Specialist for the South Central Regional Office, Dallas, Texas. The Specialist working under the contract must have knowledge of the mathematical formulas to compute federal sentences and the statutes regarding sentence computation and confinement for pre-November 1, 1987 sentences, Sentencing Reform Act of 1984, the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, and the Prison Litigation Reform Act of 1995 as well as thorough knowledge of the SENTRY computer system. The duties shall consist of providing advisory and informational services to the U.S. Parole Commission, U.S. Courts, U.S. Attorneys, U.S. Marshals Services, U.S. Probation, FBI, and other public officials regarding sentence computation and legal issues involving an offender?s confinement, mail issues, and inmate admission and release issues. Assist Bureau of Prisons staff in calculating and/or auditing sentence computations for inmates. Provide expertise and training for staff with the SENTRY computer system. It is estimated the contract will include 930 sessions for the base year and 630 sessions for option year 1. Each session is one(1) hour. The contractor will work approximately 30 hours per week. Sessions will be held Tuesday through Thursday during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The contract period shall consist of date of award through September 30, 2005 and one 12-month option period for renewal. The solicitation will be available on or about February 11, 2005, and will be distributed solely through the website at www.fedbizopps.gov. All future information concerning the acquisition, including solicitation amendments will be distributed through the website. The anticipated receipt of quotes is February 22, 2005. The solicitation is a small business set-aside. All responsible small business sources may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contract for which they are eligible.
