- Description
- The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Spokane Research Laboratory has a requirement for the development of a proximity warning system or the modification of an existing proximity warning system. This proximity warning system shall be based on the detection of electronic tags and can be used on construction equipment. Tag readers shall be required on the construction equipment that detect a tag and send a warning signal to both the equipment operator and the wearer of the tag. The work shall be completed in two (2) phases. The first phase shall involve development of the system and a demonstration at NIOSH, Spokane Research Laboratory. Based upon the government?s availability of funds, the second phase shall involve the delivery of eight (8) proximity warning systems and 50 tags to NIOSH. The solicitation document, RFQ 2005-Q-01792 shall be available 15 days from the posting of this announcement and shall be uploaded to this web-site. This requirement shall be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
