- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) Order under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-03-G-0004 for engineering services of autopilot update, integration, launch predictions and weapons manufacturer interface for the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) missile. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this Order on a sole source basis with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MCD), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. MCD is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MDC has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR?s requirements. Therefore, MDC?s unique qualifications justify this sole source under the authority of Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as sited in FAR Part 6.302-1 ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.?
