Description
SOURCE SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY! The Drug Enforcement Administration, Office of Investigative Technology, is seeking sources and information for potential procurement of national or international covert surveillance cellular phones. The device should operate as a top of the line A<PS, TMDA, CDMA, or GSM Dual/Tri Band cellular phone in one mode and in another have the ability to automatically answer without ringing or displaying any indication of active operation while it picks up sound nearby and transmits them back to remote location through the cellular network. Other desired features include a locally or remot controlled panic alarm, vibrator enable/disable by user, user programmable mic/gain, and a pre-amplified surveillance microphone in lieu of the standard cellular handset microphone. The devise may employ Bluetooth, video or still image technology. Submittals: Respondent are invited to provide information by 15 February 2005 in form of product brochures, press releases, technical specification sheets, independent assessment results, reprints of trade journal articles, etc, although electronic media are preferred (CD, diskette, or internet link). Submission should include complete data sheets, pertinent company information, including contact person, phone number, and fax number and e-mail address. Responses tho this synopsis should be mailed to: Office of Investigative Technology, ATTN; STTV, 10555 Funace Rd., Lorton, VA 22079. Please provide 2 copies of printed material and limit the submission to 5 pages total. POC Contact: Paul Rozier 703-495-6558. Information submitted will not be returned to the contractor. DEA is requesting that respondents provice product samples at this time for testing and evaluation. Product samples provided to the Government will be returned to the contractor at no cost to the contractor. This notice is not a commitment by the Drug Enforcement Administration to procure subject equipment. The Government is only seeking information and possible sources for future needs, if an when they arise. No solicitation document exists at this time. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information or otherwise pay for the information or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
