Description
Repair of traveling cranes two (2) locations  Allatoona Power Plant, Cartersville, GA and Buford Power Plant, Cumming, GA. Repairs for Bufords Crane will begin immediately after contract award. Repairs for Allatoonas Crane is optional for Fiscal Y ear 2006 pending availability of funds. In general (not all inclusive), work will consist of: Bridge Frame and Trolley rehab, vertical and horizontal alignment of rails, abatement of disturbed lead base paint only, repaint Bridge and Trolley, replacement o f ropes, brakes, bearings, reducers, etc., refurbish cab and replace cab controls with new Variable Frequency Drives miniature joy stick type with remote controls that can be operated from floor, replace crane electrical system; mobilization and demobiliza tion. Allatoona Crane specifications: Total capacity 200 tons; 2 hoist 100 tons each, 2 auxiliary hoist 25 tons each. Buford Crane specifications: Total capacity 300 tons; 2 hoist 150 tons each, 2 auxiliary hoist 25 tons each. A site visit will be offered. This will be a firm-fixed price type contract subject to availablity of funds. The acquisition is unrestricted, best value procurement with a NAICS Code is 333923, SIC Code 3536 with a size standard of 500 employees. The solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format, however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. Therefore, Offerors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet and downlo ad the solicitation/specifications at the following Internet site: http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/ct. NO TELEPHONE, FAXED OR MAILED request will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the mailing list. Registra tion must include the firm's physical address, telephone, a valid fax number and point of contact. All notifications of changes to this solicitation shall be made through the Internet. Therefore, Offerors who have registered are required to review the Inte rnet daily for any posted changes to t he solicitation. The Request for Proposal will be available for download on or about 11 February 2005 with a closing date of on or about 15 March 2005. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be consider ed.
