- Description
- The US Geological Survey intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Mikkels Vaerksted of Grevinge, Denmark for use of an air gun, providing of projectiles compatible for use for remotely affixing satellite transmitters to walruses, additions and modifications for thirty (30) transmitters, and technical assistance in the operation of tagging equipment during an offshore walrus tagging study in the Bering Sea. There is only one known source that can construct the projectiles to be deployed with a system that is unique to this contractor and has been proven effective in field trials. Required modifications involve specific knowledge of the performance of the system currently in use. The proposed contract action is for supplies or devices for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302. This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive proposals, but interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement to the Contract Specialist.
