- Description
- The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) intends to enter into a non-competitive contract for Defense Research, Engineering, Science and Technology. The purpose of this effort is to acquire research, engineering, science and technolo gy; analysis, test and fundamental technology research for state-of-the-art defense hardware and software and associated technology creation and transition efforts. This effort includes the design and development of hardware and software models and prototy pes, the performance of systems engineering and systems of systems engineering supporting the design, development, interoperability and testing of hardware and software at the component, subsystem and system level, and development of research and engineeri ng strategies for risk mitigation in defense systems and technology programs. This contractual effort will be a sole-source award to Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) based on the authority granted under FAR 6.302-3(a)(2)(ii), which allows the use of non-competitive procedures in order to establish or maintain an essential engineering, research, and/or development capability provided by an educational or other nonprofit institution. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; ho wever, the government will consider responses received from interested sources. This acquisition is not open to allied participations. All responses should be directed to M.D. Batts , SMDC-CM-CN, MD.Batts@smdc.army.mil and must be received within (15) days from the date of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
