Description

A/E shall provide all investigative and design work, including design surveys, verification of as-built drawings, construction drawings and specifications, construction cost estimates. The work will involve the complete demolition of existing cooling towers, cooling tower pumps, underground cooling tower water piping and electrical power supply, concrete cooling tower basin, and all other items associated with cooling tower system. Design will include installation of new cooling towers, new cooling tower pumps and piping, new electrical power supplies, new makeup water connection, and new cooling tower DDC control system compatible with existing hospital-wide DDC network. A/E shall locate a new site for cooling tower and pumps, in cooperation with VA. Design shall also include provisions to install temporary portable cooling towers to maintain condensing water service to existing hospital centrifugal chillers during installation of new cooling towers. Design shall also include brick and/or masonry screen wall with gate around new cooling towers. Design will include, but will not be limited to, disciplines including general architectural, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and electrical. This is an unrestrictive procurement pursuant FAR Part 19.1007. Award is subject to availability of FY 2005 funds. Firms desiring consideration shall submit SF 330 by 3:00 PM (EST) 3/30/05.
