Description
The United States Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) is planning the release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the acquisition of Mini Eye-safe Laser Infrared Observation Set (MELIOS) components; the government intends to procure the M ELIOS components through a sole source new work modification to an existing contract to Northrop Grumman in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1. The United States Government does not possess the data rights for a competitive a cquisition for the aforementioned MELIOS components. This acquisition will be for the following three different prime components of the ANPVS-6 MELIOS. NSN 5860-01-324-8206, an Optics Module, determines and displays in the eyepiece the distance to a target from a required minimum of 50 meters to a maximum of 9,995 meters, in 5-meter increments, by using the laser start pulse and the reflected laser stop pulse. NSN 5860-01-324-2790, an Electronics Module, consists of several modules/switches. The Power Suppl y Module, depending on the position of the Mode Switch, supplies 5Vdc to the specified circuits in the Optics and Laser Modules, and 12Vdc to circuits in the Optics Module. NSN 5860-01-324-2791, a Laser Module, consists of several components/assemblies tha t receive high voltage from the Power Supply Module in the Electronics Module, and charges the storage capacitor when the Charge Switch is pressed. The Laser Module, consisting of the flash lamp, laser rod, q-switch assembly, and partial mirror assembly, p roduces an output beam which travels through the output-collimating telescope. The U.S. government intends on purchasing 410 units of the Optics Module, NSN 5860-01-324-8206; 400 units of the Electronics Modules, NSN 5860-01-324-2790; and 310 Laser Modules , NSN 5860-01-324-2791. A Firm Fixed Price modification is anticipated for the acquisition of the aforementioned three parts. The U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM) has established an Interactive Business Opportunity Page (IBOP) website as part of the Armys Single Face to Industry, to allow electronic posting of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitation for Bids (IFBs) from CECOM to Industry.
