- The VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System on behalf of VISN 16 intends to award a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1(c) to a firm doing business as "UpToDate" for point of care clinical reference. An international faculty of over 3000 authors writes the material. Program material consists of the following specialties: Adult Primary Care & Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Endocrinology & Diabetes, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Oncology, Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, Nephrology & Hypertension and Rheumatology. Software also contains more than 10,000 graphics, 100,000 Medline abstracts, as well as a complete drug database. A new version is released every four months or three times per year. All new and revised material is supplied at no additional cost. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement by submitting their capabilities in writing to the Contracting Officer no later than February 3, 2005 by 3:00 PM, CST. If no responses are received by February 3, 2005, the VA will proceed with negotiations with UpToDate.
