- The Forest Service will be accepting offers for the Salyer Barracks, Six Rivers National Forest, Trinity County, California. This project involves work consisting of earthwork, site utilities, septic, and construction of two new barracks for the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, as shown on the contract documents prepared by Winzler & Kelly Consulting Engineers. The work consists of construction of two new 1-story wood-framed buildings, site work, sewage disposal system, including the earthwork, concrete, structural steel, wood framing, waterproofing, standing seam metal roofing, roof accessories, sheet metal, hollow metal and wood doors and frames, vinyl windows, hardware, glazing, interior finishes, plumbing, heating-ventilating-air conditioning, electrical systems, lighting, communication systems, site utilities, concrete flat work, and A/C pavement. Three additive bid items are included in the work and are described as follows: Additive Bid Item No. 1 ? Overlay of 0.2? AC paving as shown on the plans and specified; Additive Bid Item No. 2 ? Furnish and install two new site lights including trenching, conduit, wire and all necessary appurtenances as shown on the plans and specified; Additive Bid Item No. 3 ? Furnish and install two gas ranges as shown on the plans and specified. The work shall conform to the specifications and the Contract Drawings. LOCATION OF WORK: The work is located on the Six Rivers National Forest, approximately 10 miles east of Willow Creek on Highway 299 in the town of Salyer, California. PREBID TOUR: A pre-bid tour is NOT scheduled. CONTRACT TIME: 180 calendar days. ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: between $500,000 and $1,000,000. ESTIMATED START WORK DATE: April 1, 2005. Solicitation estimated issue date is February 7, 2005, with an estimated due date of March 9, 2005. The solicitation will be posted on the FedBizOpps website for viewing and printing.
