Description
DESCRIPTION: The Military Applications in Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MARS) program that supports the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Unmanned Ground Reconnaissance (CUGR) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACT D) program is seeking to identify candidate technologies that with short-term development can provide sample collection devices for air, aerosols, vapor, liquids, and solids. Similarly, sensors that can trigger, detect, or identify CBRN agents, Toxic Indu strial Chemicals or Materials (TICS/TIMS), O2, LEL/UEL, VOC, CO, and H2S detection are also sought. New and novel systems that can provide an integration platform for multi-variate sensors will also be entertained. These sensors need to be small, rugged , and use minimal power in order to facilitate integration on a small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) and must be interface-able with systems that can relay status and control to/from an external controller by means such as serial, infrared (IRDA) or Etherne t. Use of multiple sensors to provide this capability is acceptable. Technologies must be maturable to a TRL-6 level within 2 years. Ideally, these technologies should be available to support system integration and technical testing in mid FY07, foll owed by operational demonstration in late FY07. This call for product information is open to DoD contractors, commercial entities, and US government agencies. Companies and organizations that would like their detection/identification/collection pro ducts considered for use in the MARS Demonstration Program will be provided with detailed instructions for submitting product specifications, submission templates , and detailed MARS needs. Requests for this information should be made by e-mail to stev en.skolnik@apgea.army.mil or by calling 410-436-3955 . This request must provide the requestor's name, company or organization, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. Material solutions and concepts may be submitted anytime before xxxx. Partici pation in MARS Demonstration Project solicitation is totally voluntary, and the government does not intend to award any contracts or pay any costs associated with this solicitation.
