Description
Provide complete A/E services to prepare preliminary drawings (50%), develop the design (100%), and prepare final construction documents including cost estimate (100%). A/E will also provide construction period services for project 619-05-100 ?Upgrade Water Towers and Install Backflow Preventer at Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) East Campus, Tuskegee, AL. Work shall include but may not be limited to exterior painting (blast, paint, lead abatement); foundation repairs; interior painting; steel repairs; extend overflow pipe to ground, replace bolts, replace latter rungs, sandblasting and relocation of cell phone coax cable. Disciplines that may be involved include but are not limited to Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical. This announcement is restricted to A/E firms that are located within a 200 mile radius of Tuskegee, AL as determined by using the 2004 version of Rand McNalley Road Atlas. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following criteria: Factor number (1) is most important with factor numbers (2, 3, 5) equal to each other but somewhat less, important than factor number (1). Factor (4) is less important than (1, 2, 3, 5) but more important than factor (6), which is of least importance. The following are the rating factors. (1) Specialized Experience and Technical Competence; (2) Specific Experience and qualifications of Personnel Proposed; (3) Professional Capacity of the Firm in the Designated Geographic Area; (4) Past Record of Performance on Contracts with Government agencies; (5) Geographic Location and Facilities of the Working Office; and (6) Point Adjustment for Existing Design Work and Existing Construction Period Services. Firms desiring consideration must submit their SF 330?s by COB (4:00 PM CST) on February 9, 2005 directly to: VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35404, Attention: Wanda Goolsby (10N7/NLO). A/E firms must be located within a 200 mile radius of Tuskegee, Alabama to be considered. The estimated construction cost is between $250,000 and $500,000. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 541310. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL; NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE WILL BE ISSUED.
