- The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract under commercial item acquisition procedures with Amera-Chem, Incorporated, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81502, under RFQ 0173464. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Amera-Chem, Inc. is to provide the following item: 1) Drug Identification Bible (Book) Total Quantity ? 2501. Based on the market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government and the related-industry, it has been determined the FBI?s requirement for the above-listed items can only be provided by Amer-Chem, Inc. The known requirement will be used as a guidance tool for new agents by providing them with an efficient manual/book detailing the types of drugs commonly associated with Terrorist groups, in addition to providing users with the dangers connected with collecting and preserving drug evidence. The Drug Identification Bible will provide agents with newly required objectives associated with drug identification. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 11:00AM, EST, Friday, January 28, 2005, via facsimile to the attention of Renee L. Braun, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-1844. Information received will be solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System Number is 511130 and the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13.5. The awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database and also the new Online Representation and Certification Application Database (http://www.bpn.gov).
