- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to address potential offerors questions. Question 1: The specifications list a 100 Ft. Retractable Tower. Please advise if you prefer either of the following: A) A Rigid Telescoping Steel Grid Tower Assembly that can be climbed in the upright position, with Work Platform at the top. B) A Telescoping Air Inflatable Mast Assembly that cannot be climbed in the upright position, with Work Platform at the bottom. Answer to Question 1: The tower will not be climbed in the upright position. An air inflatable mast is not feasible. Question 2: Please advise the approximate Cross Sectional Area of the Antenna Equipment so that we can properly size the outrigger, ground stabilizer, and Guy Wire System. Answer to Question 2: The size of the 500 pound mast top payload can be approximated by going to http://heron.nrl.navy.mil/contracts/RFP/05jk02amend02spec.pdf. Question 3: Under "Additional Requirements" in the Specifications, #10 states, "System must be equipped with a night vision goggle (NVG) compatible aviation obstruction lighting subsystem, including all required cabling and electrical connections," Please provide clarification/specifications/requirements for "night vision goggle compatible lighting subsystem." Does this system require special hardware, lights, wiring, etc? Answer to Question 3: The towers are to be quipped with standard aviation obstruction lighting systems. The NVG compatible requirement is hereby cancelled. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (14-JAN-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
