Description

Future Combat Systems is developing a fully integrated hit avoidance suite to provide protection to the Manned Ground Vehicles and Current Force vehicles. We are soliciting information on Active Protection System technologies and supporting componen ts to support this effort. The program will develop complementary capabilities for short-range and long-range threat protection with initial concentration on short-range protection for fielding on Current Force vehicles in FY08. The intent is to provide the best, balanced protectio n to ground vehicles, and, therefore, all active protection systems and components are of interest. Interested firms should go to the Boeing website at http://www.boeing.com/fcs and look in the 'What's New' section to find information on how to request a copy of the RFI. Your responses will assist in finalizing plans for this effort and allow better defi nition of requirements. Make inquiries only through the website listed above. The Army Contract Specialist listed on the announcement will provide no further information than is on the website and will refer you there. A link to request a copy of the RFI s hould be available by COB 14Jan2005. In addition, the Lead System Integrator, Boeing, plans to conduct a bidders conference targeted for March 2005 in St. Louis, MO. Neither the Government nor Boeing will reimburse contractors for any costs incurred as a result of their participation in this RFI survey. This is not a request for proposals and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government will not execute any award(s) based solely on responses to this SOURCES SOUGHT announcement and will not pay for any costs incurred in response to this announcement. This announcement constitutes only a Request for Information and no obligation will be incurred by the Government or The Boeing Co. for responses to this request.
