This is the first of at least three notices to be synopsized in accordance with (IAW) the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) parts 15.201 and FAR 5.205 ( c). Notice to Foreign Companies: Foreign participation will not be permitted at this time. All synopsis notices are meant to exchange information concerning the Government requirements and industry capabilities relative to the Government?s potential acquisition of the equipment potentially to be designed, installed, and constructed at the USAF Academy in Colorado. The USAF Academy has secured an advanced ?technology, 4 meter-diameter telescope with adaptive optics from the discontinued space based laser project. Currently, there are no funds available for any design, construction, or any travel reimbursement costs regarding this project. The 4 meter telescope is currently being housed at Northrop Grumman at 33000 Avenue Pico, San Clemente, CA 92673. The 4 meter telescope will be disassembled, packed up, and shipped to the USAF Academy sometime prior to May of 2005. We are requesting interested parties to review the currently assembled 4 meter telescope prior to it being disassembled, packed up and shipped to the USAF Academy. Once the 4 meter telescope is packed and shipped to the USAF Academy, it will no longer be available for review as a completely assembled piece of equipment. A site visit has been scheduled for February 10th 2005 at 1:00 P.M. Pacific time at 33000 Avenue Pico, San Clemente, CA 92673. Security requirements are US Citizenship and photo identification to gain access to the site. Government personnel will be there to conduct the site visit. All those planning to attend the site visit at No Cost to the Government will be required to submit all required information no later than 28 January 2005 to Dr. Derek Buzasi, Professor - Department of Physics, 2354 Fairchild Drive, United States Air Force Academy, CO 80840. Currently, we are seeking any and all potential qualified businesses who are interested in traveling to San Clemente, CA at No Cost to the Government.
