Description

Each year the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) works with Academy Health in promoting improvements in health and health care through a major dissemination proeess. Federal agencies rely on the Academy Health for assist in disseminating of information about their health services research activites, to stimilate the interest of academia and private health services organizations, to support cutting edge research in health services, and to showcase funding priorities in health services research. Academy Health conducts an annual meeting where major issues of interest to health services researchers are presented, debated, and discussed. The 2005 Annual Research Meeting, ?The Premier Forum for Health Services Research,? will be held June 26-28. Because Academy Health is the only national membership organization formed exclusively to promote the field of health services research, the CDC intents to negotiate on a sole source basis with Academy Health to plan and conduct this meeting. This announcement is being issued for informational purposes only; a request for quotation is not available. If another organization feels they have the expertise to plan and conduct the meeting; disseminate conference information; promote to researchers and users the critical data from NCHS; provide a complete set of conference materials, including the audio/video tapes of the 120 session recordings; web outreach; and a comlimentary list of job announcements searchable on-line; they should submit information identifying their capabilities to provide these services to Denise Rains at the address listed above. The agency will consider any response(s) to this announcement in determining whether or not to compete this requirement. Responses must be received within fifteen days after posting of this notice. If the agency determines competition is appropriate, a solicitation will be posted at this website. No subsequent presolicitation notice will be issued.
