Description
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks a qualified firm to provide a full range of Workers? Compensation Nurse Case Management Services. The TSA workforce is currently statutorily established at 45,000 Full Time Permanent (FTP) employees located throughout the United States and its territories, including all fifty (50) States, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam, Pago Pago, Midway and the Mariana Islands. There will be a higher number of actual employees due to part-time and temporary personnel. As TSA?s responsibilities change to include other modes of transportation, this number may change. The majority of TSA employees are employed as Transportation Security Screeners. Job requirements for security screeners include the ability to lift 40 pounds, and for some security screeners, lifting requirements may be up to 70 pounds. As a result of job requirements, security screeners in particular are experiencing injuries and filing workers? compensation claims at a rate that is approaching 30% of the workforce. DRAFT RFP. TSA is issuing this solicitation as a draft RFP. Questions/Comments are due in writing by January 18, 2005, 5 PM EST. Questions/comments should be sent by email to susan.minson@dhs.gov. The Government intends to reissue this RFP formally at a later date. The Government does not anticipate many changes, therefore, the projected proposal due date is an indication of approximately when proposal shall be due. AWARD CONSIDERATION (SMALL BUSINESS CASCADING) Any award for Workers Compensation Nurse Management Services, resulting from this solicitation will be made to a small business concern, provided that a minimum of two (2) competitive proposals are received from qualified small business concerns. If a minimum of two (2) offers from qualified small business concerns are not received for the services/supplies specified within the solicitation, the award will be made on the basis of full and open competition from among all responsible businesses submitting offers.
