Description
Small Arms Family of Suppressors Market Survey Announcement The U.S Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command ? Armament, Research, Development, and Engineering Center (TACOM?ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806- 5000 is interested in acquiring information on either commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) items or non-developmental item (NDI) suppressors that will reduce the baseline muzzle flash, blast and sound signatures of the Army?s 9mm M9 and M11 Pistols, 5.56mm M4 Carbine, M16A4 Rifle, and M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW), 7.62mm M240B Machine Gun, and the .50cal M2 Machine Gun. Product information and samples should include, but not be limited to ?drop-in? barrels (if applicable), sound suppressors, suppressor compatible muzzle brakes, and/or flash suppressors that allow for non-suppressed weapon firing. It is desired that suppressed flash and/or noise signatures be less than the current weapon suppressed signature. Please send product information ONLY (no samples) to U.S. Army, Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce, BLDG 10, ATTN: Mary Krisanda, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. The product information along with any hardware samples will be used as an indication that companies have a COTS or NDI system readily available. Potential contractors must be able to produce a minimum of 60 systems per month, per weapon with a production surge capability of no less than 90 systems per month, per weapon. The suppressor(s) must be able to reduce the baseline signatures of the weapon systems listed above without adversely affecting or degrading weapon performance, accuracy, functionality, recoil, safety, and reliability. It must also be modular enough to be easily installed and removed by the operator without the use of special tools not readily available to the operator. If your company has an existing, commercially available or non-developmental item that meets these requirements, please provide brochures or other information relative to the performance, maintenance, and physical characteristics (i.e. size, weight, etc.) of the product. This is a market survey, not a pre-solicitation notice. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. All product information shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government. The government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey.
