Description
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) intends to negotiate a Sole-source award to DataWatch Systems, Inc. Bethesda, MD to procure the following: Item: 0001: DW 1* Microprocessors installed and utilized to process activity and facilitate database administration (3 each); Item 0002: System Card Reader installed and utilized to control access IN (1 each) Fail-Secure Electric Strike Request-to-Exit Motion Magnetic Alarm Contact Aiphone Video Intercom Door Station; Item 0003: System Card Reader installed and utilized to control access IN (1 each) Fail-Secure Electric Strike Request-to-Exit Motion Magnetic Alarm Contact; Item 0004: System Card Reader installed and utilized to control access IN (1 each) Fail-Secure Electric Strike Request-to-Exit Motion Magnetic Alarm Contact; Item 0004: System Card Reader installed and utilized to control access IN (1 each) System Card Reader installed and utilized to control access OUT (1 each) Delayed Egress Magnetic Lock Magnetic Alarm Contact; Item 0005: Accessories: Five Aiphone Wall/Desk Monitoring Stations Related Power supplies, Relays, Wire; Item 0006: Lot Wire; Item 0007: Lot Labor. This equipment will be interface with the current DataWatch System located at 650 Massachusetts Avenue Washington, DC, which is being used by ATF. DataWatch has the maintenance and monitoring for the existing access control system and recording devices any changes in the contract would conflict with the existing warranty. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received from interested parties will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All contractor installers must have security clearances. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. There is no solicitation available for this requirement. This requirement will be awarded through the Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13. ATF seeks a sole source award because access to the system includes passwords, current knowledge of the system set up within the building. The award date will be made 1/14/05.
