- The Directorate of Contracting, Fort Campbell, KY, intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with Military Systems Group Inc. of Nashville Tennessee for the purchase of 46 each of the following: gun mounts, swing arms, and secondary weapon st ations. The respective part numbers are H24-5 # M24-090, SA1#09-001, and M#09-060. The items will be used to mount M249 & M240/Mag58 MG weapons on HMMWV vehicles. Military Systems Group Inc. is the manufacturer of these items and does not sell them thru di stributors. Competition is being restricted based on the proprietary rights of the manufacturer. The NAICS code for this procurement is 332994; the size standard is 1000 employees. This sole source requirement will be procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition. The award will be on an unrestricted basis with a projected award date of January 26, 2005. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received will be evaluated: however, a determination by the government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. If no responses a re received, the government will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Military Systems Inc. Responses are due by January 25, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. (CST).
